About Deacon Sam

Sam was born here in Florence, South Carolina, and attended local schools. He earned his B.A. degree in Psychology from The Citadel and later went on to receive his M.B.A from the prestigious Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in Lake Forest, IL. Sam currently works as Director of Pastoral Services for McLeod Hospital in Florence, and is also the Chaplain for the Florence City Police Department. Sam was ordained to the vocational diaconate in 2016 along with our Deacon Barbara Holliman. Sam is married to Sara and although they were not blessed with children, they do have a houseful of well-spoiled pets.
